Chinese company Suzhou Hunan New Materials to invest up to $ 150 million in chromium processing project in Kazakhstan

Chinese company Suzhou Hunan New Materials plans to invest up to $ 150 million in a chromium processing project in Kazakhstan's Aktobe Region. The investment follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Aktobe regional administration and Suzhou Hunan New Materials.

The project will be implemented in two stages. The first phase involves the construction of a chromium concentrate processing facility. The second phase will expand operations to include the production of metallic chromium, significantly increasing the value added to Kazakhstan's abundant chromium resources and reducing reliance on raw material exports.

The investment is expected to create new jobs, strengthen the metallurgical industry in the Aktobe Region, and boost Kazakhstan's export potential. Suzhou Hunan New Materials has confirmed its readiness to begin practical implementation of the project and continue close cooperation with national and regional authorities.
